Then have to scan as 64bit RGBi and then do the dust removal separately in the HDR application! Huge multi-step pain in the butt. For iSRD you need the separate HDR module which costs an additional $100. You can't use iSRD (IR dust removal) in SE Plus with Epson and Microtek scanners due to "licensing issues" according to SilverFast support. I tried SiverFast SE Plus with the HDR module, was really disappointed with the software and returned everything. I get it already, I was planning to get the pro version before I saw thatīut now the Epsom and Elements combo doesn't seem as annoyingĮpsom and elements is a hair flakier than I would have expected Tried Silverfast now, and it was great compared to the epson software :) I had some shots with a lot of shadows, and while the Epson only got noise out of it, Silverfast scanned the image 16 (!!) times to reduce noise and got a pretty decent image.Īlso, I hate the way the Epson software resets all your level adjustments and so on if you for an example changes the output size! Yeah, of course I can just download the trials - I think I was pretty tired when I wrote this, I think it started out to figure out if they were compitable + my scanner isn't here right now :) I have never tried Silverlight, but I would suggest that you download both programs as trial versions and decide which one suits you best.Ĭool, so you can do multiple exposures with VueScan.
DNG files and multiple exposures are really usefull for me. I have been using VueScan since I bought the V600 and like it. Silverlight says the same thing, so I guess its an old review. Imaging Resource says that neither VueScan or Silverfast Ai will work with the Epson v600, but in the VueScan Release Notes it says it works.
